Adriana Gianturco

Adriana Gianturco nasce a Napoli nel 1934.

Quando la sua famiglia si trasferisce a Roma, Adriana, all’età di 9 anni, comincia a frequentare lo Studio del Maestro Giorgio Hinna a Villa Strohl-Fern, luogo dove risiedono gli Studi dei più importanti Artisti.

Riceve poi gli insegnamenti del Maestro Josef Strachota e del Maestro Fausto Vagnetti.

Consegue la Licenza Artistica all’Istituto d’Arte di Via Ripetta e frequenta Scenografia all’Accademia di Belle Arti.

Segue i corsi di pittura di Toti Scialoja e Renato Guttuso.

Prende l’abilitazione all’insegnamento del Disegno e della Storia dell’Arte per gli Istituti Superiori.

Crea le scenografie per alcuni film pubblicitari tra cui Algida (Studio Saraceni-Lodolo) che viene premiato.

Collabora con il Gruppo Ripetta con opere di design, esponendo in varie mostre e vendendo alcuni pezzi da lei creati anche in Giappone.

Apre a Roma, a Piazza del Popolo, un negozio di arredamento, antiquariato e design.

Espone le sue opere alla Galleria Margana di Roma, alla Galleria MAD di Roma, a Palazzo della Corgna a Città della Pieve (PG).

Crea costumi per balletti classici e spettacoli (Compagnia di Danza Mimma Testa – Lo Schiaccianoci ed altre opere).

Crea i costumi per l’opera "Sharazad" che inaugura alle Piramidi del Cairo il Primo Festival del Teatro Sperimentale. In questa occasione le viene offerto l’insegnamento del Costume Teatrale all’Accademia di Belle Arti del Cairo, ma non può accettare per impegni familiari.

Disegna per tre anni tessuti per la moda che vengono stampati dalla ditta Ratti di Como ed altri nel mondo.

Per l’alta moda collabora come creatrice di cappelli per Fendi, Laura Biagiotti e Karl Lagerfeld.

Crea ottanta costumi per un Presepe Vivente, ispirato ai presepi del ‘700 napoletano, rappresentato per cinque anni in occasione delle feste natalizie alla Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Roma e per le strade del centro storico.

Attualmente si dedica all’Arte Contemporanea.

Adriana Gianturco was born in Naples in 1934.

After her family had moved to Rome, at the age of 9 Adriana started attending the studio of Maestro Giorgio Hinna in Villa Strohl-Fern, a place reknown for housing some of the most important artists' studios at the time.

She was taught by Maestro Josef Strachota and Maestro Fausto Vagnetti.

She earned a high school diploma in Arts at the Istituto d'Arte in via Ripetta, and afterwards she attended the Scenic Design Course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

She attended painting courses by Toti Scialoja and Renato Guttuso.

She earned the teaching qualification for Drawing and Art History teaching in High School.

She created the scenic designs for some publicity films, amongst which the award-winning Algida film (by Studio Saraceni-Lodolo).

She collaborated with the Gruppo Ripetta providing design works, diplaying her works in various exhibitions and selling some of her works in Japan.

She opened an interior design, antique and design shop in Piazza del Popolo in Rome.

She had exhibitions in the Galleria Margana in Rome, in the MAD Gallery in Rome, in Palazzo della Corgna in Città della Pieve (PG).

She created costumes for classic ballets and various shows (Compagnia di Danza Mimma Testa - The Nutcracker and others).

She created the costumes for the Opera "Sharazad" which opened the first Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre held in the Pyramids area. On this occasion she was offered the chair of Theatre Costumes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cairo, an offer she could not accept due to family reasons.

For three years she designed fashion textiles printed by the Ratti Company in Como and other companies throughout the world.

In the area of High Fashion she worked for Fendi, Laura Biagiotti and Karl Lagerfeld as a hat designer.

She created 80 costumes for a Living Nativity, inspired by the Neapolitan Nativities of the 18th century, which has been performed live for five years in a row during the Christmas season at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Rome and through the historic centre of Rome.

At the present time she devotes herself to Contemporary Art.

you will not find one single tone of banality
